Freddy Madball's Hip Hop Album Review By Zirp

In 2009, Freddy Madball dropped a hip hop album. For anyone not familiar, Freddy is the frontman of Madball, a legendary NYHC (New York Hardcore) band. The album is titled Catholic Guilt, and it's something of a hidden gem. Hip hop heads who aren't fans of the hardcore scene likely haven't even heard of it, let alone heard it.

Freddy got bars, and his lyrics flow perfectly over dope production from Stress the White Boy. Features include Vinnie Paz, Reef the Lost Cauze, Slaine, Jaysaun, and Lars and Tim of Rancid.

In short, this shit bangs. Hardcore and hip hop are both the most authentic genres of the street in their own right, and this is some real grimy street shit, seamlessly blended with the deep introspection that only a good Catholic boy perpetually surrounded by sin could bring. If you haven't heard it, get on it at your earliest convenience. It's been 15 years already; stop sleeping!
